Where to Stay in Wadi Rum – Our Peaceful Wadi Rum Bedouin Camp
Our Wadi Rum desert camp is far away from the lights of the village, in a secluded area, isolated from other camps. This means that you get an authentic, peaceful desert experience. With no distractions, you can really immerse yourself in the rhythms of the desert.
If you want to get away from the city buzz, our Wadi Rum Bedouin camp is a great place to relax. You might find that time moves a bit differently in our Wadi Rum camp. You can forget about all your cares and worries while you enjoy the sounds of silence in our Wadi Rum desert camp.
Wadi Rum Stargazing At Our Wadi Rum Bedouin Camp
The Wadi Rum Protected area is breathtaking during the day, but just wait until the sun goes down and darkness falls over the desert. The night sky is really something else and perfect for some Wadi Rum stargazing. It’s entirely possible that you’ve never seen so many stars in your life.
As it’s far away from any light pollution, our Wadi Rum desert camp is in an amazing spot for Wadi Rum Stargazing. Ask your guide how Bedouins used the stars to guide them before GPS and learn a new skill!
If you want to see the stars outside of the camp, Momoo Advneture Tours can also organise some Wadi Rum stargazing in a peaceful, secluded spot outside of our Wadi Rum Bedouin camp.
Traditional Food and Bedouin Stories in Our Wadi Rum Desert Camp
No stay in the Wadi Rum desert would be complete without experiencing some traditional Bedouin cooking. In days past, Bedouins didn’t have kitchens with stoves, so they cooked their food in a hole in the ground. Luckily for you, we can show you this traditional method, known as Zarb.
That’s not the end of the Bedouin culture you’ll experience in our Wadi Rum Bedouin Camp. We’ll invite you into our traditional style communal tent, where you can sit by the fire and sip tea while we tell you entertaining stories and share our culture with you.
Sleep in Traditional Wadi Rum Accommodation with Some Modern Comforts
When you’re thinking of where to stay in Wadi Rum, keep Momoo Adventure Tours in mind! Our simple Wadi Rum Bedouin camp contains traditional style tents that are made from goat hair. This is the exact material that Bedouins historically used to make our tents, back in the days when we were nomadic wanderers of the desert.
We’ve kept this tradition alive so that you can experience a little bit of what life was like for us back in our wanderer days. Although, there are a few small concession we’ve made for you. You see, we traditionally slept on mats on the floor of our tents, as it wasn’t feasible to carry beds with us!
However, in the interest of keeping you comfortable during your visit, we’ve included modern beds in all tents at our Wadi Rum Bedouin camp. We also have hot showers and flushable toilets at our Wadi Rum camp.
That’s not to say that you can’t experience something more adveturous like sleeping on a mat on the ground in the desert wilderness or an open cave with no showers or toilets if you want to. We’re happy to organise that for you.
